How it counts
The countdown reaches zero at midnight at the start of the event day, in the time zone of your device. It reads your device clock every second; if the clock is wrong, so is the countdown.
Dates of the events
Fixed dates: Christmas (25 December), New Year (1 January), Halloween (31 October), Independence Day (4 July). Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November. Easter follows the Western (Gregorian) computation.
