Fireplace a log fire that crackles

Mantel: William Kent, about 1730, Cleveland Museum of Art (CC0). Log: Wikimedia Commons (CC0). Library: Hearst Castle (CC0).

Light the fire and leave the page open: a log burns on its grate in a white marble fireplace carved around 1730 by William Kent, the flames flicker on the marble, and the sound of a real wood fire crackles in a loop, for as long as you like.

Put it full screen on a computer or a TV for a winter evening, a dinner, a quiet read or to fall asleep by. Nothing to install, no account, and no cookie.

Questions

Is the sound a real fire?

Yes. It is a recording of a wood fire in a fireplace, free of rights (CC0), played in a loop with no break.

Can I put the fire on my TV?

Yes. Open the page in your TV's browser, or cast your computer's screen to it, then press Full screen. On a computer, the bar disappears after three seconds without moving the mouse.

Does it work all night?

Yes. The fire and its sound keep going for as long as the page stays open. Keep your device plugged in if it is a laptop or a phone.

Why is there no full screen button on my iPhone?

iPhones only put videos full screen. Turn your phone sideways and add the page to your home screen to see the fire larger.
