The picture
The fireplace is a white marble chimneypiece designed by William Kent around 1730, photographed by the Cleveland Museum of Art and placed in the public domain (CC0). Its firebox is cut out so the fire shows through it.
The log on its grate comes from a CC0 photo on Wikimedia Commons. The flames above it are drawn live by your browser, each with its own rhythm, and the light of the fire flickers on the marble.
The sound
The crackling is a recording of a fireplace from BigSoundBank, free of rights (CC0), the same as the fire of our ambient sounds.
